My New Allergy Blog

I just started a new blog. I just didn't want this blog which basically chronicles our family to be overwhelmed by allergy stuff. So, I started a new one dedicated just to that.

www.anotherallergymom.blogspot.com

Find all my rants, raves, and new favorites dairy-free, egg-free, and nut-free recipes there. Or ignore them entirely and enjoy your dairy filled, eggy and nutty life. :)

A Tale of Two Eaters

Hello. My name is Sam. And I am a horribly picky eater.

Usually when you give me ANY food (and I mean just about ANY food), my reaction is something like this...
But I'm good at trying foods. I usually spit them out but every now and then we find something I thought I hated but that I really like. It's pretty rare.
My most recent quote? "I want water for dinner. Mom - I don't like eating." I do like eating smores though. (and any chocolate)

Hello. My name is Zack. And I will eat ANYTHING and EVERYTHING...
especially what you are eating.

But, food has been a matter of concern for me.Usually it makes me feel like this...
Or this...

And often like this. (Plus, my disgusting diarrhea diapers that happen once an hour have been putting my parents on edge.) But good news... We found that I have milk, egg, and peanut allergies!
So I am feeling a bit better.

We're so glad to finally discover what is bothering this little guy... and yet the thought of being an allergy parent is somewhat daunting. Any recipes, cookbooks, sources, etc for cooking milk, egg, and nut free???
We're searching over here... open to ANY AND ALL tips!

Teaser

Who can tell me what city this is... (and if you're really good, what has changed in this picture in the last 2 years)
where we found both this
and this... (extra bonus points if you know where this is...)???

That's your teaser for my next post...

Silly Man

I love this little silly man and all his faces. And I love my new flash (Thanks Matt. Best Mother's Day Present Ever!) which takes my pics from good to FABULOUS. It's the best.

Senior Pics

One of the laurels in my ward asked me to shoot a few senior pics for her. We went down to 9th and 9th (home of some funky hip shops and restuarants), and worked with what we found. I'm wishing that we went west of gateway for some old warehouses, but oh well. Some of them turned out well. Check them out.

One Smart Boy

Sam picks up learning like I pick up his toys. Daily. Unendingly. And, at least for him, with incredible ease. It is with little effort on my part that he started recognizing numbers, colors, shapes, letters, sounds, etc.

And now? My three year old just read me a book. Check this out. (It's long... for the grandparents... don't feel obligated to watch all of it.)

Farewell Longfellow Park Building

So many other Boston people have already posted, but I am also so sad at the loss of this building. There are many memories there. Like Lisa introducing me to Matt. Attending church. The historic surroundings. Boston in general. I'm sad to see it go. I wonder where all those people are going to attend church now...???

Farewell Longfellow Park Building. Thanks for all the fun memories!

I Can Spell My Full Name!

(All by himself, Sam sounded out and spelled his full name
using alphabet magnets on the fridge...)

Spaghetti Adventure

Zack loves just about any food we put in front of him. He shovels it in as fast as he can and gets upset if he finds anyone eating anything and he is not also eating that same thing. Funny little man. He is SO the anti-Sam when it comes to eating.

Here are his latest spaghetti adventures.
