HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEESE!

Here's to my favorite older sister and the only one who "gets my jokes" and has a talent for learning by heart the wrong song lyrics...
Hope you're having a fab birthday Leesie Lou.

I'll post more tomorrow... Apple pies is running my life!

Here's my new favorite Caroline pic.

Day Four

Today was quite adventurous. The mere fact that I am STILL posting today shows my sheer dedication to "Weese".

8:30 am - Leave my house to meet the youth at the church for APPLE PICKING! Yummy fresh hot cider donuts and apple butter and chocolate caramel covered apples later...
(I love these girls)

12:30 home
1:30 grocery store run
3:00 leave for Tim and Becky's where I was lucky enough to photograph their darling little Caroline. She is too cute. I am still sorting through lots of pics, but here are a few.

5:00 home
6:00 dinner with some favorite friends. We had quesadilla pie - a delicious concoction of tortillas, shredded rotisserie chicken, zucchini, red onion, cheese and enchilada sauce served with salsa, diced avacado, sour cream, and fresh cilantro. YUM.
7:40 leave for the RS Broadcast.
10:00 home! and posting on this blog. :)

Day Three

A few random thoughts:

1 - Hubby coming home from work at 1am this morning (technically today!). SIGH.
2 - The Office season premiere last night? A bit disappointing!

3 - Sam being funny with his toys and the laundry basket today.
Look at this smirk...

Does this look remotely comfortable?

As long as he's happy...

4 - Playing with Lila, Zach, and Abby and their totally AWESOME bubble machine! (It spews out something like 10,000 bubbles in a minute!) Sam LOVED it. (sorry! No pic of this one! Next time for sure!)
5 - Hubby coming home from work tonight at 6:47pm. Ecstatic and extremely unusual!
6 - Family movie night (at least part of it) watching Cars with Sam - Fabulous.

Day Two

I promised... and here we go. Some pics of my day so far.

Sam's doggie. Snuggling with this was the only way he let me wash his "little bink, big blue, and big red" (his blankies).

My Presidency Meeting was today... where we discussed mostly...

APPLE PIES. Yes. We are making 250 apple pies next Tuesday. It's quite the project. Stay tuned. I'm sure I'll post pics of that night.

YUMMY chicken salad that I made. This is all that is left... until I had lunch. :) It's my old roomie Peggy Lou's recipe, and I had forgotten just how awesome it is!

I'm never going to make the goal. Matt's much closer. Mom, Dad, anyone... is the end of September still the goal??? Yikes.

It was wicked hot yesterday and our house was a sauna this morning. After running my A/C all morning long, I could still only get my thermostat (the one DIRECTLY in front of my window A/C unit) to read 72. Fall weather, come back!

Happy Bday Weese

Now... I know what you're thinking... (that is if you know when my sister's birthday is...).

It's not Lisa's bday yet! Not for a few more days!

Yes, yes, I know. But as part of my birthday present to Lisa, I will be attempting something never before attempted by me. I will post something new each day for the next two weeks.

Yes, you heard me. And I'll even try to include a pic each time. Whew! This is going to be a lot of work... but here we go!

Pics of my funny Sam today and from the weekend:

The Bedhead

Who knew two laundry baskets and several balls could be so much fun?

Sam's latest trick - unloading EVERYTHING out of my coffee table (aka his toy drawers)

Vroom Vroom

Sam LOVES cars and trucks. He always wants to play with his cars and trucks, watch cars and trucks outside, go for walks down the busiest streets, play at the parks next to the busiest streets, etc. He's a true boy.

The other funny thing about Sam is how much he loves to line up his cars when he's playing with them. This is what I found Sam doing the other day. He had systematically (2 cars at a time) moved all his cars over and up the two steps on his little step-stool to line them up on the kitchen counter.

Welcome New Bloggers

I figure this deserves a post of its very own.

Three of our good friends finally decided to join the blogging world.

Brian and Mindy have felt like life-long friends... and for Matt and Brian the statement is almost true. They met in junior high and have been friends ever since, going to high school, the U, then out to Boston for law school. They both married lovely ladies 5 yrs their junior and now both work at the same firm. Again. (but that's another story.) They've been like our family away from home out here. Check out their cute new blog with pics of our favorite spazzy girl Kay Lynn and chubby cute Aubrey here.

We met Johnny and Emily a couple years ago and have fallen in love with them as well. They both love life, people, laughing, games, etc. They have a darling almost 3-year-old, Lila, and the cutest twins - Zach and Abby. Matt would love nothing more than to do woodworking projects with Johnny all day long, and I would love nothing more than chat and tag along with Emily (who is a craft genius) all day too. You can read about them - and especially check out Johnny's awesome facial hair in the sidebar - here. (Don't forget to check the date on their oldest post... :)

Finally - Billy and Jacee. While we didn't know Billy and Jacee quite as long as the other two, we totally love them as well and miss them out here! Understandably... Dallas has better weather than Boston... but still. Sam misses his little girlfriend Kenslee - and I miss going for walks to faraway parks, and other adventures with Jacee! You can see what they're up to (and check to see if that Texas drawl has infiltrated their speech yet!) here.

(PS - Emily in Colorado... I've been MUY impressed with all your new posts! Don't let me down now!)

(PPS - and Leese. WOW oh WOW. I almost stopped checking your blog several times a day because you stopped posting. Like moving across the country is supposed to be an excuse... Love all the new pics. And Soph is too cute. Sam scaled up his changing table today and I thought of you...)

PPPS - CONGRATS BRAD AND RACHELLE!
