Cocoa Puff Addiction

Matt loves cocoa puffs. It's his favorite cereal. So, while Lindsey was visiting, she had some for breakfast. Sam, the ever observant one, wanted some too...

Still... the Blankie on the Head

Sam loves having his blankie on his head or chewing on it in his mouth. One or the other will do.

Here's this morning:

Five Things...

Lisa "tagged" me to do this, so here ya go. (By the way, the word "tagging" reminds me of gangbangers...)

FIVE THINGS You May Not Know About Me

1 - My mood depends on the cleanliness of my kitchen. No joke. Just ask Matt. My whole house could be a disaster, everything falling apart, but if my kitchen's clean... life's a peach.

2 - Following in my brother Jake's example (just ask him about Anken Ern), I have invented my own language. It's based loosely on Spanish, but Matt calls it Marseltongue. Comprehendado?

3 - I LOVE Ricky Martin music. Having just made myself "Marci's ULTIMATE xxx" cd compilations, Ricky Martin appears in both the Marci's ULTIMATE Random Hits #2 and (multiple times on) Marci's ULTIMATE Dance in the Kitchen. One of my favorite get up and go songs is La Bomba. Matt especially loves it when I sing along in Marseltongue.

4 - My best friends in Boston right now are 12-18 year old girls - and particularly the laurels. Truly. I finally came to full realization of this at our last mutual activity - ice skating on Frog Pond downtown. Simple fact is that I see them more often than any of our other friends here!!

5 - I know every single word to Ernie and Bert's Greatest Hits CD - and I often turn it on for me, not Sam. Matt thinks these lyrics are particularly true for our relationship:
Ernie: "I like to lie awake in bed at night and talk to you."
Bert: "I like to say goodnight, and go to sleep."

I'll let you guess who's Ernie and who's Bert...

Sweet Sam

Just took a bunch of pics of Sam. Not that unusual, but I really like some of them. They would make a good montage, but I'm not blog-savvy enough to be able to do it here. Oh well! Use your imagination!

This one is my absolute favorite.

Just look at those cheeks!Sam loves reading books in his room.
I love this little smile.

Snuggle Sam

Sam loves to snuggle. I mean REALLY loves to snuggle. He will spend at least 15 minutes straight snuggling with his blanket and doggie. Throw in the other things in his crib and he's content forever!

Yesterday, Sam was snuggling, but also wanted to read books. So, we had a snuggle book reading session while Matt was playing with wood downstairs (working towards putting doors on the shelves he made for me a couple years ago...).

Here's some pics of what Matt found when he came back upstairs...

Note that I had Sam on my lap with his dog, teddy bear, red blankie, blue blankie, and little square blankie. It was quite toasty warm!

Out in the Cold

Sam was nice and toasty out in the cold last night thanks to his coat and hat from Grandpa and Grandma Moorhead. Thanks!

Jumparoo Sleeping

I left Sam in his jumparoo (which he still loves) to go get ready for the day. When I came back, I found him like this. I was only gone for my 15 minute shower!

Dishwasher Woes

I used to be able to load and unload the dishwasher with Sam's "help" since he loved to take out silverwear and utensils and bang them against anything he could find. Now, all he wants to do is try to get the bottom rack off the track (hearing those dishes bang around is WAY fun), or trying to stand on the open door. So, no more dishwasher fun for Sam!

Here's from the other day when I accidentally left the dishwasher door open.

Sneaky New Tricks

I caught Sam playing in the bathroom and decided to photodocument what he can do in the space of 1 minute.

First, of course, unroll all the toilet paper. What fun!
Then play with the empty roll for a while, spin it around and around.

When that gets boring, look around for something new to do....
AHA! Play with all the TP you just unrolled! Rip it into bits and scatter the bits everywhere!
Then, crawl over to the cabinet under the sink and get into there. After that, see what you can reach on top of the cabinet - in this case, Mom's makeup bag.
And, that's where I decided this photo journal should end. Sam thought it should continue much longer, and let me (and all the neighbors) know with his protests.
