So You Think You Can Dance, Sam Style

We dance a lot in our house. While Zack is really getting the bop down, Sam has some classic moves. Here's Sam "boogie-ing".

On another note.... this is what I get when I ask for a "smile" these days.

Happy LUV Day

One of my new years resolutions is to celebrate the holidays more. More basically means more than a passing thought that today is actually V Day. So, we went all out. Sam helped me tape hearts up on all the walls, hang hearts from the ceiling, do some valentine's crafts, color some cute free valentines, etc. We had PINK waffles with strawberries and pink whipped cream for breakfast, heart shaped sandwiches for lunch, and Mindy's DELICIOUS stuffed pork chops for dinner. Ahhhh. Yum.

The best part about our celebrations? How much Sam LOVED it.

Matt - even though you hardly read this blog and may never see this... and even though you hate validating this "hallmark holiday"...

Happy Luv Day to you, my foxilicious hubby.

Unbelievable.

Here's the scene. Grocery shopping done. Groceries loaded into back of van. Boys loaded into car seats. I have just returned my shopping cart and am standing at the rear of my van.

There is a car pulling into the spot next to the driver's side, so I am waiting for the car to pull in so I can get into my van and leave.

Except for one little glitch.

The car hits my van.

Yes. You read that correctly. With me standing RIGHT THERE, the car hit my rear bumper as it was pulling into the parking spot. I was a bit speechless. I soon regained that function.

Lady exits car.

Me: "Hi."
Lady, looking pleasantly surprised by my friendliness, flashes a big smile: "Oh, hello."
Me: "Ummmm... you just hit my van."
Lady, more surprised : "Oh I did?"
Me, wondering just how clueless this woman is (she really didn't FEEL the contact or HEAR the screech??? Give me a break...): "YES."
Lady: "Oh."
Me: "Right here." and I point to the nice new scratches on my bumper.
Lady, with passionate sincerity: "Oh, I am SOOOOOOOO sorry."
...and then she turns to go into the grocery store.

I'm thinking... you have GOT to be kidding me!!!

Me, mad now: "So, wait. You just hit my van. Could I get your information?"
Lady, looking a bit startled: "Oooooooh. Well, I guess so."

Unbelievable.

If it's not already clear, I'm pretty sure this woman was a few cards short of a full deck. As I was finally pulling away to leave, I noticed that her car's sunroof was wide open.

It was snowing.

Why We Have Been Bad Bloggers Lately

It's been a long miserable road, but I think we're finally there now.

On another note, a Zack dancing video for you... (please excuse the wobbly camerawoman.)

Brothers Gotta Hug

(I am too behind right now with Christmas photos. They will come soon. Maybe by Valentine's Day? *sigh* Until then, look at these adorable brothers.)

We have snuggly boys. At least Sam is... Zack remains to be seen. This one is Sam trying to give Zack a snuggle and Zack trying to give Sam one of his slobbery open-mouthed kisses. Too cute.
Here's Sam attempting the snuggle again.
BOTH MY BOYS LOOKING AT THE CAMERA AT THE SAME TIME (with somewhat normal expressions on their faces)!!! You have no idea the hoops I jumped through to achieve this mediocre photo.

And last night. So heart-warming to find your boys reading books together.

Everyone is Jealous of...

My Hair.
(Seriously. Just ask Jake. and... yep. No product or styling. Just good ole backlight to accentuate the awesomeness factor for you.)

Favorite Quote

"The forces of entropy and my husband are closely allied."

Amen, Anne. Amen. In my case... I would have to add Sam and Zack too!!! (okay, okay, and occasionally me.)

Help...

Two things.

1 - Need to buy a new carseat since our little tiny baby ain't so tiny (aka I can't really pretend that he fits in his infant carrier anymore). Any suggestions / What do you use?

2 - How do you get your kids to clean up after themselves? Rules? Consequences? Regular clean up time each day? Looking for ideas...

Little Tank

Today, I put this adorable little boy (with his awesome hair) who is not quite EIGHT months old...
into an 18-month old size shirt.

AND IT FITS.
